The age old question … “Why hasn’t anyone solved this already?” … often triggers the beginning of an entrepreneur’s new venture. Whether it is a pain point in business or their daily lives, they aim to make the lives of those around them better.

Before voicemail, you’d keep calling until you finally reached the person. Now, we use email, SMS and social network apps to communicate with the expectation that we’ll get an instant response from the other side. In this digital world, we have almost everything at our fingertips. It used to take days, weeks or even months to get updates about things. Now we search for an answer from Internet-connected mini computers we all carry around. You can order a ride, food, music and so many more things no matter where you are.

Beginning of the journey

And that was the moment that marked the beginning of this journey. How could I not know my sister’s new home address? In this modern world, shouldn’t that just be automatically known? There’s got to be a solution. A solution that provides the control and privacy of personal data that people crave but don’t receive from providers who want to dissect and/or sell access to know more about you. A solution that follows the trend of people not wanting advertising constantly pushed in their face.

In honor of my sister, who loved to watch The Sound of Music so much that I can’t get the songs out of my head, we called the company name KnoRe:Me Inc. It is a play on the song “Do Re Me” and the Greek word “gnorimi” (or γνωριμί) which means get acquainted. So world, it’s time to get acquainted!
